Ethereum Mining Show for Nvidia GeForce GTX 950

When talking about GPU mining with Nvidia-based GPUS for crypto currencies there are two models that usually come ter mind – the GeForce GTX 750 Ti and GTX 970. When talking about Ethereum mining however Nvidia mining equipments do not do that well compared to AMD-based equipments and while the GTX 970 does pretty well at about 20-21 MHS the GTX 750 Ti is performing terribly, so it is not suitable for ETH mining. A good choice for GPUs that have only 1 GB of movie memory or do not perform well for mining Ethereum is to go for mining Decred (DCR) at the ogenblik, so you have good alternative. But if you are presently building a low powered multi-GPU mining equipment at the uur with Nvidia-based GPUs the card of choise will most likely not be the 750 Ti anymore, you should go for the slightly more expensive GTX 950.

The GTX 950 is doing much better for mining Ethereum spil compared to GTX 750 Ti, you can expect to see somewhere around Ten MHS from the 950 and it has bot like that since the beginning (no vertoning druppel like on some AMD cards). The reference vormgeving GTX 950 has a TDP of 90W spil compared to 60W for the reference vormgeving GTX 750 Ti, but it also offers higher spectacle and is usable for Ethereum mining at Ten MHS. The GTX 950 does pretty well for other mining algorithms spil well, you have alternatives available like DCR and will still get good spectacle and profit. Here is a comparison inbetween GTX 750 Ti doing around 500 MHS with the latest ccMiner fork from tpruvot with Decred support (the swifter 64-bit version) versus around 645 MHS for GTX 950, thesis numbers are from the publicly available miner. So do consider going for GTX 950 instead of GTX 750 Ti if you are building an Nvidia mining equipment now and GTX 970+ is not an option at the ogenblik.

MSI GeForce GTX 950 Gaming 2G Mining Hashrate and Power Usage

Last week Nvidia has announced a fresh mid-range GPU, namely the GTX 950 that is being placed inbetween the GTX 750 Ti and the GTX 960. Interestingly enough the GTX 950 has 128 CUDA cores more than 750 Ti and a TDP of 90W with a price point that is a bit higher than the 750 Ti, so the big question is if the GTX 950 can be the fresh affordable and low-power usage alternative for mining suceeding the 750 Ti. Wij took an MSI GeForce GTX 950 Gaming 2G movie card and have tested how it performs for crypto mining ter various algorithms using the latest ccMiner fork from SP optimized fro Maxwell GPUs spil the GTX 950 is Compute Five.Two card. Wij have also tested using Ethminer for mining Ethereum’s Ether (ETH) coins spil thesis are pretty hot and profitable to mine at the ogenblik.

The table above does not contain results for the following algorithms that are supported by ccMiner: lyra2, skein, yescrypt, whirl, x14, x17 spil when attempting to test them wij have encountered errors or the miner software crashing. Wij are not sure if this is directly related to the use of GTX 950 and the default energy settings not working for some algorithms, or just that there are issues with the specific algorithms ter the latest code of ccMiner. The TDP result shows how much power the movie card uses for each of the algorithm with 100% TDP being equal to 90W of power usage on a normal GTX 950, but on the MSI factory overclocked Gaming specimen the 100% TDP is actually equal to 110W. Spil you can see however very toverfee of the algorithms are getting close to the maximum TDP of the GTX 950, so the actual power usage could be even lower than 90W on most of the algorithms.
